Verse Four

Good Evening Ladies,

We have made it to verse 4 and the end of the year is soon approaching. I hope you have enjoyed studying and memorizing Gods Word. Without delay here is verse four- and yes we are back on track with our "alphabet" memorization;

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart." Jeremiah 29:13

I pray blessings upon you as you seek Him,

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Ladies!

Sorry this post is a little late in delivery- I was having computer issues yesterday. I love this time of the year. My favorite dishes, great friends, the joy of family reunited- that would be mine, looking ahead as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior. It is truly my favorite time of year. I was reminded this morning I have not always kept this sense of grattitude to my God throughout the year. It has been a hard year for myself and family. Without going into detail I can just tell you it has been a year of trials and strongholds. And so that got me thinking...why all of the sudden am I able to reflect and have such a grateful heart??? I certainly have not kept this attitude during my circumstances. Was it my brokeness, was it that the the trial had passed, repentence, a good friend who helped me along the way, His grace???? So much to think about. And then I remembered...I am able to be because HE is who HE is. He is the One that constantly welcomes me back with open arms after my disbelef, disobedience, or ungrateful heart. What an amazing God. I believe the English language can not conjure up an appropriate description for this affection He must have for us, me, you.... So I challenge you this Thanksgiving and in the weeks to follow to reflect back over the year and remember why you are thankful. Not just for what we have but for who He is. I think our verse leads us quite well into reflection;

"Enter His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name."
Psalm 100:4

Now I realize we are on X..... but after much searching and thought I really feel like this is where He was leading me. So for all my "structured" gals- I apologize!!! And just to let you know I am not a bible scholar(the secret is out!) so besides "Xerxes" I had a difficult time fitting our verse- hope you do not mind the detour- we will resume our regularly scheduled "letter to verse" in two weeks!:)
As you enter His gate with thanksgiving and praise what will you truly thank Him for? I wish everyone of you a blessed holiday filled with remembrance and thanksgiving of who He is to you.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Crystal

Verse 2

Hello Ladies!

I can not believe two weeks have already passed since we embarked upon on journey to hide God's Word in our hearts. I hope everyone is enjoying the time you are spending with Him. Just so you know as much as you are loving spending time with Him, He is taking great delight in you! Our next verse is a bit shorter  but with no less magnitude.

""Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalm 27:14

Our last verse claimed victory in our Lord Jesus Christ while not being moved. This week we will reflect on waiting for Him. I can't help but relate the two. For me it is so imperative I remember that even while I wait on Him, He is God, He is never late, and His ways are so much better than my own. After reading this weeks verse and memorizing last weeks I could not help but tell myself to wait on Him and not be moved. This Psalm tells us not once but twice to wait on Him. For a girl like me- that means it must be important! This has been one of the most difficult parts of  my journey with Him. "Wait Crystal" I hear Him say to me....and I cry to Him "But dont' you see it's not fair...." and He sweetly whispers( with so much patience time after time)...."Wait on me- I have not left you...." Ladies, I do not know what any of your situations are or where you may at this time with Him, but this I do know- He will NEVER ,NEVER fail us when we wait on Him. So if you are waiting on Him and you are tired and your situation looks bleak remember to "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

I pray this verse brings you much comfort and encourages you in your weeks to come. Have a wondeful week and let us know how you are doing!

Waiting for Him,
Crystal

Happy Friday Ladies!

I was just checking in to see how everyone is coming along on the memory verse for the week. Please feel free to post any comments and let us know how it is going for you. I always find for me personally if I write it down in my spiral and say it a few thousand times it generally sticks!:) Has it spoke to anyone this week?? I know for me "let nothing move you" has resounded in many areas of my life. So much can come our way in the form of trials or just because we live in a fallen world and several times over the last week I have reminded myself to let nothing move me. From my childrens choices to family decisions- let nothing move me. I faultered a couple of times and moved but I must say I recovered much more quickly this time around with those great words echoing in the back of my mind!! It is been amazing how it catches on- I start to then bring other scriptures to memory and my whole perception on the situation changes. I just thought I would share that with you girls. "Let Nothing Move Us" may we always stand upon Christ our solid rock! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the weather! See you soon!

Not Being Moved,

Verse 1

Here is our first verse for our Scripture Memory-

".... victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
1 Corinthians 15;57-58

We have two weeks to commit this scripture to memory and engrave it upon our hearts. I am not sure I think I forgot to mention that each new scripture verse will correspond with a beginning letter of the alphabet and since were close to the end of the year we chose to start with "V". That way in January we will start a new year with A and finish appropriately with "Z". Thanks Angela!!!!

Okay Ladies lets get busy memorizing His glorious words!!! Have a wonderful day!

Welcome Ladies

Welcome Ladies!

The Womens Ministry at First Baptist Church of Rockport welcomes you to our blog! This blog is designed to encourage you in your walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. Our scripture memory verse will be posted here every two weeks and we encourage all women, whether you attend our church or not to become a part of this wonderful network of sisters in Christ. Gods Word tells us it will never return to us void. Psalm 119:15-16 encourages us by saying " I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word" Ladies lets delight ourselves in him. Lets give Him those parts of us he longs to have. His Word is our lifeline to all He has for us. I encourage you to have someone you can recite your verses to- not to intimidate you but to increase accountability. Satan wants nothing more than to steal that seed He is trying to plant. Use this blog as well as a source of accountability. Feel free to comment on the verse, how you used it, what it meant to you, or any questions you may have. It does not just have to be about the particular verse of the week either. You can post a comment on something you are studying or a good word you feel God would want you to share. God is raising up mighty women of faith and scripture memory is vital in our walk with Him. I hope you are as excited as we are. We look forward to hearing from all of you and growing together in His wonderful gift to us- His word. May you delight yourself in Him!

God Bless,
Crystal Simmons
